Turn Ag Expert Exports into Bank Files
You use FCC Ag Expert to manage your farm finances.
EFT Flow bridges the gap to direct deposit—without per-transaction fees.
The Ag Expert payment gap
Ag Expert is excellent farm management software. It tracks your finances, manages your inventory, and reports to AgriStability. But when it comes to actually paying people:
- No direct bank file export: Ag Expert doesn't generate CPA-005 files
- Manual bank entry: You end up keying payments one-by-one into online banking
- Cheque runs: Some farms still write cheques because it's "easier" than manual entry
- Third-party fees: Payment services charge per transaction
EFT Flow bridges the gap
Export your payment data from Ag Expert. Import into EFT Flow. Generate a bank-ready CPA-005 file.
$95/month flat. Pay 5 people or 50—same price.
How it works
Generate a report of payments due—suppliers, workers, or custom transactions. Export to Excel or CSV.
Drag and drop your export file.
Tell EFT Flow which columns contain payee names, amounts, etc. This is saved for future imports.
EFT Flow matches payees to their stored bank information.
Generate the bank file. Upload to your credit union or bank portal.
After setup: The process takes about 5 minutes. Export from Ag Expert, import, export bank file, upload. Done.
Exporting payment data from Ag Expert
Ag Expert offers several ways to get your payment data out:
Accounts Payable Report
Run your AP aging or bills-to-pay report. Export to Excel. This gives you vendor names and amounts due.
Custom Reports
Create a custom report with the fields you need—payee, amount, due date. Export to CSV.
Transaction Export
Export transactions for a date range. Filter to the payments you want to process.
Payroll Data
If you track labour in Ag Expert, export your wage calculations and process through EFT Flow.
Flexibility: However you structure your Ag Expert data, as long as you can export names and amounts to a spreadsheet, EFT Flow can work with it.

Works with your bank
Many farms bank with credit unions or regional institutions. CPA-005 is the universal standard:
- Credit unions: All Canadian credit unions accept CPA-005 uploads
- Big banks: RBC, TD, BMO, CIBC, Scotiabank—all work the same way
- Caisses populaires: Quebec institutions use the same standard
- Farm Credit Canada: If you have an FCC account, EFT works there too
One format, every bank: You don't need different setups for different banks. One CPA-005 file works everywhere.
Cost comparison for farms
| Monthly Payments | Per-Transaction ($1) | EFT Flow |
|---|---|---|
| 10 (small operation) | $10/month | $95/month |
| 30 (mid-size farm) | $30/month | $95/month |
| 50+ (harvest season) | $50+/month | $95/month |
Seasonal math: During harvest, you might pay 40+ workers weekly. That's 160+ payments in a month. At $1/transaction, that's $160. With EFT Flow, it's still $95.
FAQ
Does EFT Flow integrate directly with Ag Expert?
EFT Flow doesn't have a direct API integration with Ag Expert. Instead, you export your payment data from Ag Expert to Excel/CSV, then import that file into EFT Flow. This approach works with any version of Ag Expert and doesn't require any special setup.
What version of Ag Expert do I need?
Any version that can export data to Excel or CSV. This includes Ag Expert Analyst, Field Manager, and older versions. If you can get your data into a spreadsheet, EFT Flow can process it.
Can I pay both farm workers and suppliers?
Yes. You can include any combination of payments in a single file—workers, suppliers, contractors, family members. Or create separate files for different payment types. Your choice.
I bank at a small credit union. Will this work?
Yes. CPA-005 is the Canadian standard accepted by all financial institutions. Your credit union accepts the same file format as the big banks.
What about taxes and deductions?
EFT Flow handles the payment step—getting net amounts to bank accounts. You still calculate deductions (CPP, EI, tax) separately in Ag Expert or with your accountant. EFT Flow pays whatever net amounts you provide.
